While observing the voltages with the probes already placed about 3/4 inches in to the tree in the xylem we saw occasional deviation in the signal. Approximately, when the voltage in the tree went to 400mv it suddenly spiked to 700mV then 750mV then 800mV then 700mV. Directly after this the voltage dropped to around 310mv then slowly raised back to 400 at which point the anomaly recurred. This deviation caused the audio oscillator to go to a base frequency of around 7000hz while the usual frequency is around 1000hz each time the voltage spiked. We believe that the voltage shift is a direct effect of the tree just beginning to bud.
